Before I came to Harvest Bible University I was living a quite happy and boring life in Washington State, and going to school as a college student. Then about six months before the actual bible school started I felt restlessness in my spirit. It was something that had been building up for the last two years and it came to a point where it was as if I could not rest anymore because of this uneasiness I felt, and this need to leave. Then shortly after I had firmly decided there was something wrong with me my Mother reminded me of the bible school starting in Singapore in the church we had previously attended. That seed of a thought stuck with me and grew into a question of “why can’t I go half way across the world to study God’s word?”
After this occurred to me God spoke to me in an un doubtable voice saying that I needed to leave and go to Singapore. When people ask me why I am here in Singapore my only answer is that God told me to go and so now I’m here. At the point in which God spoke to me and I began to make plans to leave it was only three months before the school actually started and so I dropped everything, got a full time job and worked to get the money to be in Singapore. Since that time before I left, I feel as though I have become a totally different person from the woman who stepped off the plane so many months ago.
I came with only a hungry heart, not knowing even what it was I wanted what I was called to, or even a basic understanding of myself in many ways. Now as I stand in this place and think on a week ago, a month ago, and all the way to the beginning I can feel and see myself growing like a sunflower. This school has done far more for me than simply equip me with biblical knowledge, as most schools do, it has changed my very being.
